VERDICTS AND SETTLEMENTS

Many at-fault parties and/or their carriers prohibit disclosure due to strict confidentiality but we can discuss those during in person consults. Below are actual settlements that have been achieved in the last two years. Case examples are dropped, as well as added, when time passes.

We can provide examples unique to almost every set of circumstances but this often requires we pull data beyond the last two years. Please note that Alabama law places limits on damages and punitive damages not found in Georgia. As a result, numbers for cases in Alabama will be lower than those in Georgia.

Clients were husband and wife who operated a tractor trailer as a driving team. Wife was in sleeper cabin while husband was driving when defendant crossed into their lane hitting them head-on. Client’s husband was killed on impact and Client sustained significant injuries. $7,750,000.00 (Seven Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars) was recovered for both claims on eve of trial in federal court.

Client was operating a tractor trailer and stopped at a stop sign when two additional tractor trailers traveling down the intersecting road collided with each other before colliding with our Client. Client underwent several surgeries and was able to recover from both at-fault carriers and UM carrier.

Client was rear-ended by a commercial vehicle while at a traffic light. Client underwent several surgeries and suffered permanent disabilities.

Client struck the rear-end of a tractor trailer when the driver failed to yield at a traffic light. Client suffered several fractures and disc herniations requiring injection and surgical treatment.

Minor client was operating a golf cart with family members when they were struck by a pick-up truck. Client suffered severe injuries including the need for several surgeries.

Client was a passenger in a box truck that was t-boned and suffered several disc herniations requiring injections and surgical treatment. Prior to the collision, Client was active and worked heavy labor jobs. The client also presented claims for newly onset diabetes because of inability to resume his previously active lifestyle which was supported by the World Journal of Orthopedics.

Client fell from top of ladder while at work after a customer intentionally moved the ladder. Claims were pursued against the customer’s homeowner’s insurance.

Clients were involved in a collision with a tractor trailer that was improperly parked on a ramp. Settlement encompasses amounts for 2 minor children, individually who each suffered minor injuries, an adult who suffered minor injuries, and death claims of a second adult who was killed as a result of the collision. All Clients were passengers in the vehicle they were in. UM

claims were only available for 1 Client and were settled for the surviving adult to assist in financially supporting the minor children whose mother was killed as a result of the collision.

Client was rear-ended while driving which caused her to collide with a bulldozer nearby. Client suffered severe damage to her knee that would eventually require a total knee replacement. A character Affidavit on behalf of our Client showed how our Client was affected by her injuries in her every day life and at work.

Clients were on a motorcycle when they were hit by a road rage driver who fled the scene. Settlement was reached by stacking multiple policies as allowed by Alabama law. Settlement was reached for Estate Claims of deceased passenger and injury claims of surviving driver.

Client was traveling down two-lane road when they noticed a vehicle driving the wrong way in her lane of travel. In an attempt to avoid the collision, Client swerved into the opposite lane, but the other driver then entered their correct lane causing a head-on collision. Client was originally listed as being at-fault for the collision causing contested liability. Settlement was reached after addressing the fact that Client’s recollection of events was consistent at all relevant times while the other driver would not give clear answers and insisted they did not remember what happened.

Client entered the back yard of a friend’s home where they were attacked by the family dog. The client required stitches on his arm and had minimal medical damages but was left with severe scaring which contributed to mental distress.
